Horrible service. Uploaded my documents 5 times, every time they claim “verified,” but the app still says proof of address pending. Stuck in a useless loop. My residence permit is expiring and support shows zero sympathy—just robotic copy-paste replies. Broken system, no real help. If you value your time and future, avoid Expatrio at all costs.

I am beyond frustrated with Expatrio. My first blocked account with them 3 years ago was simple, but now it’s a nightmare. They falsely list video verification as an option for account activation but force you to go to the post office. After complaining, they moved me to Mangopay, promising an easier process and no extra fees—yet I was charged setup and service fees twice! After 12+ emails, they only refunded part of it and kept giving copy-paste responses. Zero accountability, zero help.

Hi Aleena - we are sorry to read this! For most users, Video Identification is possible, and the used method. In some cases, this can not be completed and you must go to a local post office. We understand this is frustrating, but it is for the security of all customers and is a requirement when setting up a Bank Account in Germany.

Can't provide video verification when the app has bugs and keeps crashing. "AcTivAtE yOuR account In ThReE eAsY StEpS". Right. What the app lacks in ease, it makes up for in headaches to activate your account. I understand a lenghty verification of identity is needed due to security. But wow, they give you one tool (Through the app ONLY) for secure self help and it still manages to let you down. prepare for a headache if they havent fixed any of the bugs by the time you use the app.
