★★★★★ Slumber is Better for sleep than the Calm app
I bought Slumber & Calm at the same time. When I want help with sleeping, I find myself turning to Slumber only. Their narrators are more skilled in the hypnotic, soothing style of speaking. You don't need celebrities; you need people with wonderful voices who know how to read in a hypnotherapy-style cadence. And Slumber has better sleep sound options, and you have more control over those options. I also like that you can choose to keep playing the background music, and perhaps a sound like rain, for a set amount of time after the narration ends. Also, better calm bedtime stories designed for relaxing, comforting rest too! Plus, the price is better.

Definitely not for me. I saw that you have some good books in your app, but when I went to try them i realized that they're kind of hard to listen to when only one chapter is accessible. I like anne of Green gables and have been wanting to read but I definitely won't be reading it via this app, as everything past chapter 1 is behind a paywall. this is the same for all of the books that I looked at. Not for me at all. Unimpressed. Uninstalled. Moved on to try a different sleep app.

I love that there are a lot of different stories and meditations to choose from. I like the background sound effects. I like that you can choose by narrator. The only downfall is the sleep tracking. It's a great idea, but it's so buggy. Once it showed I went back in time in my sleep. It also says my average bedtime is 4pm. Wish they would fix this because sleep tracking is important to me and I do use the app almost every night.

I have used Calm and Slumber to help me fall asleep. I like Slumber the best. But I often wake up when the sounds stop, so I add a couple episodes of whatever story I am listen to and then follow it up witha bunch of music (mostly binural) and this works great, but I have to set it up each and every night. If there were editable playlists that we can save it would be so much better. They say they are working on it. I hope they deliver soon! Calm has finally created playlists.
